Kim Kardashian West is a big fan of 'desi' attire and Indian jewellery. She hopes to come to India soon with her reality show "Keeping Up with the Kardashians".
Kim talked about her love for India with Vogue India for its March 2018 edition, "The saris, the jewellery, the clothes -- everything is so beautiful," Kim said. "I told my show that we have to figure out a way to get to India," she added.
With TV shows such as Beverly Hills 90210 and Baywatch being a superhit with the youth audience (15-30) back in the 90s, Keeping Up should also do well as its got a niche market. The youth of India are very open to Western TV shows and their ways of living.
Roadies fame and Monozytic fame director Rajiv Ram rightly points out, "Today's youth is seeking edgy content through various platforms and diverting from mainstream content that can get repetitive and regressive."
Reality shows, such as KUWTK, with tons of voyeurism, questioning family values, hard-hitting real life stories or risqué fiction; fantasy, crime; comedy, cutting edge adventure offer the entire package. Thus, there is a market for such a show and India's youth is ready to soak it all in!
