Kolkata flyover collapse was an act of fraud, not God: Modi in West Bengal

Madarihat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday addressed a rally in Madarihat area of West Bengal's Alipurduar district.

Attacking the Bengal Chief Minister over the Kolkata bridge collapse incident, Modi said that it was 'an act of fraud.'

"When the bridge collapsed, they said it's an act of God. This is not act of God.this is an act of fraud. God has sent a message that the bridge collapsed and gradually she will destroy the whole of Bengal."

"You said contract of that bridge (Kolkata flyover which collapsed) was given by Left. Want to ask you Had that project been completed & you (WB CM) were asked to inaugurate it,would you have said the same thing?," he said while addressing the rally.

Taking a jibe at 'Didi's' relation with Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Modi said, "When the government calls a meeting to discuss important issues, Mamata Banerjee does not attend that meeting. But whenever she comes to Delhi, she definitely meets Sonia ji. I cannot understand this relation."

He said that "instead of Ma Mati Manush" people have only heard "money" and "killing" in past five years.

PM Modi said that Left parties and Didi don't talk about development, instead, they trade on charges of rape, corruption and violence.

"Be it 'Didi' or Left, they both cannot secure your future," he said while addressing the rally.

"I promise to work for the welfare of the poor," he said.

Polling for the second phase will be held on April 17, the third phase on April 21, fourth on April 25 and the fifth and six phases on April 30 and May 5 respectively.
