New Delhi: The Parliament is today reverberating with the warm emotions an sentiments attached with the Quit India Movement. Earlier in the day PM Modi tweeted:"In 1942, the need of the hour was to free India from colonialism. Today, 75 years later the issues are different. Let us pledge to free India from poverty, dirt, corruption, terrorism, casteism, communalism and create a 'New India' of our dreams by 2022."

How can today's generation relate with the Quit India Movement that happened 75 years ago? The times have changed and many generations, with their own respective values find it difficult to relate the Quit India Movement also called India August Movement launched by Mahatma Gandhi on 8 August 1942. The World War II was on and the demand to to end British Rule in India was raised at the Bombay Session of All-India Congress Committee. Well, PM Narendra Modi has the answer.
