New Delhi ( News24 Bureau): MAC Cosmetics is set to unite the world of beauty with the pop culture series Star Trek. It has announced the launch of a new line of products that will celebrate the golden jubilee of the intergalactic series 'Star Trek'. The famous American Sci-fi movie struck a chord with many fans after its debut premiere in September 1966. Since then, the franchise of the cosmos have been entertaining the audience for decades, transgressing all the borders of age, race and gender. On Star Trek's golden Jubilee, MAC decided to introduce a new range of products with 'cosmically charged hues' to celebrate the fierce characteristics of the female Trek characters such as Uhura , Beverly Crusher, Jadzia Dax, Kathryn Janeway, Carol Marcus, Kira Nerys, Hoshi Sato, Seven of Nine, T'Pol and Deanna Troi.Thus, it developed products that are exceptional in their appearance. The 25 piece make up is said to be shiny, with an imaginary touch of the milky way and lots of celestial ingredients that enhance the glow of the product. The range is going to be launched in September and will be available on online portals in August, 2016. James Gager, MAC's senior vice president and creative director said, "Star Trek is an iconic pop culture phenomena whose story lines pushed gender and racial boundaries. For its 50th anniversary, we celebrate each of Star Trek's powerful women in a transcending, transformational makeup collection." in a press release. Although the sale of the products will commence from September, yet, MAC Cosmetics has announced that they will open the window for pre-sale on 21 July, 2016, during the Comic Con event in San Diego. Hence, the pre-sale will take place on the stall of MAC Cosmetics at the Gaslamp. This is not the first time, MAC has introduced a line of products in collaboration with any pop culture entertainer. In 2014, MAC came out with a range of products to mark the success of another American series 'Simpsons'. Seems like this time, MAC wants to merge beauty with the brains!
