Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh is soon set to become the first Indian state to have a 'Ministry of Happiness' to measure state's growth.
Adressing the concluding ceremony of state Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) convention, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, "We will make a 'happiness ministry' to track our growth," the Times of India reported.
Chouhan said that the state would be made responsible for the happiness and tolerance of its citizens.
"We will rope in psychologists to counsel people how to be always happy," he added.
Apart from Chouhan-led MP government, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Venezuela, Germany and Germany too have special ministries dedicated towards the happiness and well-being of their citizens.
While, UAE created the post of 'Minisitry of Happiness and Tolerance' in 2016, Venezuela created a 'Ministry of Supreme Social Happiness' in 2013.
