New Delhi: The Mumbai traffic police to take up the "no helmet-no fuel" initiative from august 1 as a public movement and ensure its implementation in petrol outlets across the city as a road safety measure.
The traffic police has tied up with various petrol pump delalers they will be not allowed to refuel their vechicles without helmet at any petrol pump in the city.
In Mumbai city around 223 petrol pump located. Petrol dealers association said that two constables will be put on duty at the petrol station from 8 A.M. to 8 P.M.
The traffic police officials will first run an awareness campaign for a period of eigth day post the fines will be imposed for the offenders.
