New Delhi: In the wake of controversies over hugely subsidised costs of eatables in times of ballooning prices, the Parliament canteen finally sees a hike after six years.
A vegetarian “thali”, which was earlier priced at Rs 18, will now cost Rs 30. And a non-veg “thali” will cost Rs 60, up from Rs 33. The price for a three-course meal has gone up from Rs 61 to Rs 90. A masala dosa will now cost Rs 15, up from Rs 5.
On Thursday, Lok Sabha Secretariat said” from now onwards, prices will be reviewed from time to time.
The charges of meals gadgets in Parliament canteen have been a matter of dialogue in the media from time to time and in view of it, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan had directed the Parliament’s Food Committee to look into the matter.
