New Delhi: The trouble for veteran JD (U) leader Sharad Yadav seems to be escalating with each passing day. Differences between Sharad Yadav and Nitish Kumar had come out in open and the verbal spat that followed has further made things difficult.
JD(U) on Saturday removed Sharad Yadav as the party's leader in Rajya Sabha for indulging in "anti-party activities". A frank man that he is, Sharad Yadav was very critical about Nitish Kumar's decision about breaking away Bihar's grand alliance. The people of the state have been cheated, he felt. Yadav has been critical of Nitish Kumar's decision to break away from Bihar's grand alliance
The clouds of uncertainity was cleared when Vashishtha Narayan, Bihar JDU President announced,"We met Vice President and gave in writing that we have elected RCP Singh as our leader in Rajya Sabha. This is necessary step because being leader if a person indulges in anti-party activities it has to be condemned unanimously."
All party MPs in the Rajya Sabha, excluding Yadav and another rebel MP Ali Anwar, met Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu on Saturday and submitted a letter seeking his removal as the party leader in the Upper House.
On Saturday BJP president Amit Shah invited the Bihar chief minister to join the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). "I met JD(U) president Nitish Kumar at my residence yesterday. I invited JD(U) to join the NDA," Shah said in a tweet on Saturday.
