No, Tej Pratap is not withdrawing petition seeking divorce from wife Aishwarya Rai

New Delhi, News24 Bureau, Nov 29: Contrary to the reports that he is withdrawing the petition seeking a divorce from wife of eight months, Aishwarya Rai, Tej Pratap appears to be moving ahead with the divorce plans.

The mercurial RJD leader and former Bihar minister and son of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav continues to make headlines with his idiosyncrasies. Most of these headlines are for wrong reasons and seldom for some constructive reason. From his strange behaviours to his differences with his brother, the former CM of Bihar Taejashwi Yadav, to his marriage, to his fanciful appearances where he dresses up like gods...he ensures that he is in news always. A few days back he made heads turn when he decided to end his marriage which was just eight-months-old. He then suddenly disappeared and after a few days, it was discovered that he was living in Vrindavan and from there he went to meet his ailing father, Lalu Prasad Yadav in a Ranchi jail. And now again he is in news for withdrawing the divorce filed by him. But the RJD scion has refused to withdraw divorce papers.

According to news pouring in, Tej Pratap Yadav withdrew the divorce petition he had filed in a family court in Patna against Aishwarya Rai, his wife of six months.

Tej Pratap had filed for a divorce from Aishwarya, daughter of RJD MLA Chandrika Rai and grandchild of former Bihar chief minister Daroga Prasad Rai, on November 2 citing compatibility issues.

Tej Pratap, in his media interactions, said he had married Aishwarya an MBA graduate in May this year under pressure from his parents and could not adjust with her as she came from a different background.
Tej Pratap had created a furore when he had announced his plans to divorce his wife of six months.

He then had disappeared to resurface once again a couple of days later.

The mercurial RJD leader was then in Bodh Gaya where he had checked in at a hotel after meeting his ailing father at a hospital in Ranchi.
Lalu Prasad is learnt to have been upset over his elder son's decision to seek divorce.

Lalu Prasad Yadav is serving sentences in a number of fodder scam cases. At present, he is lodged at a hospital in Ranchi on medical grounds.

Tej Pratap Yadav and Aishwarya Rai had tied the knot on May 12, 2018.

"Our differences are irreconcilable. I had said this to my parents before the marriage was solemnized. But nobody listened to me then and nobody is listening to me now. Until they agree with me, how can I return home?" Yadav had said earlier.

The former Bihar minister also expressed displeasure over the role played by some of his close relatives, including in-laws, in his marital dispute.

In an apparent rebuttal of reports that he has been feeling slighted over the growing clout of his younger brother, Yadav said, "I offer my blessings to Tejashwi. May he become the next chief minister of Bihar. I would be by his side and help him the way Krishna had assisted Arjuna in the battle of Mahabharata".

Meanwhile, party national general secretary and Lalu Prasad's close aide Bhola Yadav requested journalists "not to make news out of differences within the family".
