New Delhi, Oct 31: Nokia backed by HMD Global on Tuesday launched its latest and cheapest Android Nokia 2 It is clear that it will get competition from Redmi 4A.
"People rely on their phones so much these days. We created a smartphone that can power through when other devices need a pit stop," said Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer of HMD Global, in a statement. Nokia 2 packs 4100mAh battery that offers two-day life, the company claimed.
The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 chipset and features 5-inch LCD HD display with stock Android Nougat operating system (OS). The OS will be upgraded to latest Android Oreo OS in the future, the company said. The device houses 8MP rear camera with automatic scene detection and autofocus (AF) and 5MP selfie camera. The smartphone has 1GB RAM and 8GB internal memory that can be expanded up to 128GB via a dedicated MicroSD card slot.
On the other hand, if Redmi 4 A is compared with it features a 5-inch 720p HD display powered by a 1.4GHz Snapdragon 425 SoC coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage and the other with 3GB of RAM and 32GB ROM, both are expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.
Redmi 4A runs on Android Marshmallow backed by 3120mAh battery and supports 4G VoLTE.
The Redmi 4A is one the biggest selling smartphones for Xiaomi this year which means that the Nokia 2 will be facing a strong competitor in the Redmi 4A. If compared, the Redmi 4A seems to have an edge over the Nokia 2 in some areas of memory, storage and processor whereas Nokia 2 wins in areas of battery and stock Android Nougat experience.
Redmi 4A is currently priced at Rs 5999 and Rs 6999 whereas Nokia 2 is priced at Rs 7500.
