New Delhi, Jan 23: The Padmavat Row has taken a fresh turn now. Patidar young and firebrand leader Hadik Patel has jumped in the Padmavati row. The young leader, who is said to be a game changer in the Gujarat polls has said that the film should not be allowed to screen in Gujarat.
The Patidar leader has jumped into the fray and has written to Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani. The letter says that the film should not be allowed to be released as it has tampere with the historical facts. The film, he said, hurts the sentiments of the Rajput community and the Hindus.
If state governments are ready to release Bollywood movie "Padmaavat" following the Supreme Court's order, the Shri Rajput Karni Sena too is prepared to stop the release of the film that "doctors the great history of the nation", its chief Lokendra Singh Kalvi said with conviction. Kalvi, addressing media persons here, spoke strongly against the release of the period drama, starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, demanding "nothing less than nationwide ban on the movie". Kalvi's comments come as the apex court is to hear on Tuesday a plea by the Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan governments seeking to block the release of "Padmaavat". The court had directed that no state government would issue an order that might come in the way of the release of "Padmaavat" on January 25. The Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh governments have moved the apex court taking the support of the Cinematograph Act where movie screening can be stopped on grounds of law and order in the state.
