On his birthday PM Modi will GIFT you BULLET TRAIN

Sanjiv Trivedi, New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will give a dream gift to the country on his birthday. The dream of a bullet train in country will come true next month, and chances are that this will happen on September 17, which happens to be PM Modi’s birthday.  And yes, the first bullet train will run between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train, will start ferrying passengers from 2023, railway minister Suresh Prabhu told Lok Sabha during Question Hour on Wednesday. Elaborating on the first Indian bullet train project, Prabhu said that the train will run at a speed of 350 kilometre per hour. “The entire corridor is elevated, fully fenced and provided with fully integrated network signalling,” he added.  The ground breaking  ceremony  for the project in Gandhinagar  has been planned next month during the visit of the Japanese PM Shinzo Abe. The visit is being planned between September 14 and September 17 to coincide with PM Modi’s birthday. Incidentally, Abe’s birthday falls on September 21.     Bullet train is one of the key poll promises made by PM Modi during the 2014 elections. The project is estimated to cost around Rs 1 lakh crore, of which 81 per cent will be financed through a loan from Japan. In 2016, during his Japan visit PM Modi had travelled on Shinkashen bullet train from Tokyo to Kobe. The same technology will be used in the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train.  To prepare Indian Railways for the bullet train, Japan will train 4000 Indian officials, and a training school is will be set up in Ahmedabad.   The government also plans to run bullet trains on Delhi-Mumbai, Delhi-Kolkata, Delhi-Chennai, Mumbai-Chennai, Kolkata-Chennai and Chennai-Bengaluru-Mysore routes.
