Pathankot attack: Pak probe team to hold meetings with NIA today

New Delhi: A five-member Joint Investigation Team (JIT) from Pakistan, which arrived in India on Sunday to probe the deadly terrorist attack on the Pathankot Air Force Base, will hold meetings with National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials at their headquarters in New Delhi on Monday.

According to reports, NIA officials will give a 90-minute presentation to Pak JIT about the probe conducted so far and the evidences gathered.

In the post lunch session, the Pak investigators would raise their set of questions to the NIA team to clear doubts, if any.

The JIT comprising of Punjab Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) AIG Rai Tahir, Intelligence Bureau Lahore Deputy Director General Azim Arshad, Lt. Col Tanvir Ahmed of the ISI, Lt, Col Irfan Mirza of MI and Gujranwala CTD Investigating Officer Shahid Tanveer will visit Pathankot airbase on Tuesday.

India is planning to provide Pak investigators access to all witnesses in the case, except security personnel from National Security Guard (NSG) and BSF, Zee News reported.

The witnesses include Punjab Police Superintendent of Police Salwinder Singh, his jeweler friend Rajesh Verma and cook Madan Gopal and 17 injured people.
