New Delhi: The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Thursday warned Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's Art of Living to revoke its clearance for the three-day World Cultural Festival if they fail to pay five-crore fine to the Delhi development Authority (DDA).
In reference to its earlier deadline of 4 pm, the NGT said that the Art of Living has until Friday to get fire and police permission for the mega event.
On Wednesday, the green court had levied the fine after it found the Art of Living guilty of not giving complete details about the three-day World Culture Festival being held on the banks of river Yamuna in the national capital.
The statement from the Court comes after Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, in an interview to NDTV, said that he would prefer going to jail than paying a fine of Rs 5 crore.
Sri Sri also took to Twitter to express his dissatisfaction. “Hum is nirnaya se santusth nahi hain. Hum appeal karenge. Satyamev Jayate!” (We are not satisfied with this decision. We will appeal. Satyamev Jayate!)
