PM Modi's gift..Rs 51000 'Shaadi Shagun' to Muslim girls

New Delhi:  This is another master stroke by PM Narendra Modi. It kills two birds with one stone as on one hand his latest plan rubbishes the belief that BJP is anti-Muslim, on the other hand it wins the hearts of Muslim women. So what has PM Modi done? Well, he has decided to give a wedding gift of Rs 51,000 to Muslim girls who obtain graduate degree. The scheme is called Shaadi Shagun. The scheme aims to encourage Muslim women to go for higher education. Maulana Azad Educational Foundation (MAEF) is creating a website where all details of the scheme will be available.  Only those graduate Muslim girls will be eligible for ‘Shaadi Shagun’ who have  who have already received MAEF scholarships earlier.  "Girl children in a large part of Muslim society are deprived of higher education even today, often due to financial constraints. We mean to encourage girls and their parents and guardians to ensure that the students complete their graduation. Hence, we've decided on the Rs 51,000 wedding gift,” MAEF treasurer Shakir Hussain Ansari was quoted as as saying by The Times of India. MAEF works under the National Commission for Minorities.
