New Delhi: The police horse ‘Shaktimaan’, which was injured during a BJP protest in Uttarakhand on March 14, succumbed on Wednesday evening.
Expressing deep grief over the incident, Uttarakhand chief minister Harish Rawat said that the horse died as a martyr. “I don’t have words to express my sorrow… we all thought Shaktimaan was recovering well.”
Expressing deep sorrow, Uttarakhand State BJP President Ajay Bhatt blamed the Rawat-led government for Shaktimaan’s demise. “Saddened. The State Govt is to be blamed for Shaktimaan's death, the medical treatment was inadequate.”
The 13-year-old horse had lost its leg after it was badly broken during clashes between BJP protesters and the police. The horse’s leg was amputated, replaced by a prosthetic leg and was confined to the police lines in Dehradun.
