New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch Setu Bharatam project today.
Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari and Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Pon Radhakrishnan will also be present during the launch.
Earlier, Gadkari had said that 208 places had been identified for construction of rail over-bridges or underpasses.
He further added that the government had also identified nearly 1,500 bridges that are 50-60 years old and has prepared a plan to demolish and rebuild new ones with greater capacity.
The cost of rebuilding the old bridges is expected to be about Rs 30,000 crore.
