Ready to strike: IAF conducts major exercise along Pak border

NEW DELHI: Indian Air Force (IAF) is gearing up for possible strikes across the border. The IAF conducted a major drill along the Pakistani border involving 18 airbases on the western front, reports say. The reports quoting sources say that the drill was to test and improve the operational preparedness.

The exercise assumes importance as it is second such exercise in a span of two weeks, which is not a usual practice. Come at a time of increased tensions between India and Pakistan after Uri attack, the exercise gets more significant, especially when Pakistan Air Force is practising landing of F-16s on motorways. Army already is in a state of full preparedness with the additional troops and ammunition at forward posts.
