New Delhi, May 9: The rumoured smartphone Redmi S2 and was spotted earlier this week on China's 3C (Compulsory Certification of China) certification website. The specifications were not revealed but the one thing that was confirmed was the launch date is nearing in China. Some reports suggested that this smartphone will be launched on May 10. But in a latest, the global variant of the Redmi S2 has been spotted on Aliexpress, hinting its availability outside China
The Redmi S2 was also spotted TENAA listing earlier, which is same as Redmi S2 listed on Aliexpress that reveals that it could feature a 5.99-inch HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Redmi S2 could be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC while we can expect variants with 2GB/ 3GB/ 4GB of RAM, 16GB/ 32GB/ 64GB inbuilt storage, and an Adreno 506 GPU
For photography, Redmi S2 is reported to sport a dual camera setup at back panel with 12MP+5MP cameras with LED flash while 16MP selfie camera on the front. The smartphone will be backed by a 3080 mAh battery and will run on MIUI on top of Android 8.1.0 Oreo.
As far as price the price is concerned, Aliexpress listing shows that Redmi S2 will be available between $165.99 which is approximately Rs. 11,150 and $193.99 which roughly calculates around Rs.13,040 but still we need to wait until Xiaomi makes it official on May 10.
