New Delhi: The violence happened after Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was convicted for rapes in Panchkula is being investigated by the special investigation team. The SIT is probing the involvement of key Dera Sacha Sauda members Aditya Insaan, Honeypreet Insaan and Surender Dhiman Insaan in the igniting such violence. On Wednesday investigation done by SIT revealed that Dera had pumped at least 5 crores to fuel the violence after the verdict
The investigations further revealed that Chamkaur Singh who was Dera's Panchkula branch head was the key person in procuring and spending the money received from Dera management.
Chamkaur Singh a resident of Dhakoli in Mohali district, has been registered under sedition case, went missing with his family since August 28.
Just like Panchkula, the Dera had also sent money to other places in Punjab, where violence broke out after Gurmeet's conviction. According to media reports, Dera supporters were promised to get a good compensation in case of loss of life during the violence.
"We are conducting raids at possible hideouts to arrest Chamkaur, and expecting more revelations after his arrest," Haryana DGP B S Sandhu said.
