New Delhi: The Rs 2000 note will be withdrawn soon by the government. This pronouncement comes from the reported mastermind of note ban, Anil Bokil. It is widely believed that idea of note ban was given to PM Modi by Bokil. While addressing students of business college, Bokil said that Rs 2,000 was a short-term measure to fill the gap created by banned Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 notes, which were 86% of the total notes in circulation.
Bokil’s statement comes close on the heels of that of RSS-linked economic thinker S Gurumurthy, who said that Rs 2,000 notes will be withdrawn. (News24Bureau)
