After two unsuccessful marriages and many relationships gone awry, Sanjay Dutt was distraught with woman trying to be with him for the luxuries, his money and gifts. It wasn't that he was a womanizer, its just that he attracted the wrong kind of woman. So when Manyata came along, she became his anchor.
Unlike his previous lady-loves, Maanyata preferred to be home and manage his meals, personally making them. She would often drop by on the sets with his favourite food. She also took care of his personal and professional matters. And she has always been cordial with his friends. This warmth attracted Sanjay towards her.
It reminded him a-lot of the way Nargis was with Sunil Dutt. After they got married, Nargis backstepped her career so that she could be the support for Sunil Dutt's career. Sunil mentioned, "I found in her a human being and a woman who would take care of my family. I found in my wife both compassion and understanding.”
Manyata also helped Sanjay strengthen strained ties with his sisters, Priya and Namrata. Initially, when Sanjay and Maanayata tied the knot, Sanjay's sisters neither attended their wedding nor accepted Maanayata as their bhabhi. But over the years, things have changed and Maanayata is the reason behind it. Both Sanjay and Manyata celebrate festivals with his sisters and they support Priya in her political career also.
Their true trying time was when things fell apart after Sanjay's conviction. Just a short while after their marriage, Sanjay and Maanayata were celebrating their union and enjoying their marital bliss, they were stuck by the court's judgment which sentenced Sanju for three and a half years imprisonment. The entire family was devastated but Maanayata stood strong and protected everyone. She managed his production company, maintained ties with his business associates and raised his twins.
A happy family today. Two years into their wedlock, the couple welcomed their beautiful twins, Shahraan and Iqra Dutt on October 21, 2010. He seems to be catching up on lost times as he has been constantly harrowed with his run-ins with the law and unfruitful relationships. Bollywood's beloved "Sanju Baba" is leading a happy life with his adorable family of four as he back working in movies also.
He credits alot of his happiness to Manyata, he says, Maanayata isn't my 'better' half but my 'best' half. She is my strength. Whenever I fall down, she supports me. I believe she had suffered more than myself. Raising kids alone and realizing each day what she had, I pray that nobody gets to suffer it anywhere.
