New Delhi: He is cricket captain of a team. He has created a world record, that will be tough to break. The fact is no cricketer may like to break it. That's because it's a very unique record. While creating the world record, this batsman eclipsed a record that was created way back in 1999.
He is captain of the Otago Country in New Zealand. His name is Fraser Wilson. The remarkable part about his innings was that Wilson could only see with one of his eyes Wilson came to bat when his side were struggling at 99 for 7. They were chasing an a near impossible target of 345 runs to win against Southland in final of the Hawke Cup.
Wilson and his team needed to bat for 30 overs to avoid defeat. Luck ran out for Wilson as his team lost a couple of wickets with one over to play. The last batsman could play out just 2 deliveries and Otago Country lost a close match.
Now the record, Wilson scored 0 in 119 balls. His innings was like one by Geoff Allott’s 0 in 77 balls for New Zealand against South Africa in 1999. Allott had come in at No. 11, and batted for 101 minutes. (News24Bureau)
