Jakarta: At least six explosions were heard in Indonesia’s capital Jakarta on late Thursday morning with gunfire breaking out soon afterwards.
Six people have died and several others have been injured in the explosions took place near Starbucks Café outside Sarinah Mall in central Jakarta.
According to media reports, the attackers threw grenades at a police booth and started firing indiscriminately.
The location is among the busiest streets of Jakarta with commercial buildings and UN office in its vicinity.
The area near the explosions has been cordoned off and the people have been warned to stay indoors in case of further explosions.
