Seven ways to sleep better at night

 New Delhi: Sleeping is one of the most important activities of the day. A good night’s sleep not only improves your attention but also helps you to sustain a healthy body.

However, not getting adequate sleep can increase your stress level and affect your memory.

So, here are seven ways that will help you sleep better:

Stick to a sleep schedule

Follow a sleeping schedule. Go to bed and wake up at same time everyday, even on holidays. Being consistent reinforces your biological clock and helps you rest better.

 

Eat & drink right

Cut the consumption of caffeinated beverages at least 6 hours before bedtime. Avoid drinking alcohol immediately before bed to avoid mid-night toilet trips.

 

Follow your bedtime ritual

Having a bedtime ritual can help you fall asleep faster. It can be anything taking a warm water bath to reading a book.

 

Get cozy

Create a sleep-inducing environment in your room before going to bed. This includes dimming the lights, turning on soothing music and setting optimum room-temperature.

 

Limit your nap-time

Long nap-time during day can disrupt your sleeping patterns during night. Limit your nap-time to 10-20 minutes during the day to enjoy sound sleep during night.

 

Workout

Include regular physical activity in your daily routine. This will not only help you sleep faster but also promote deep-sleep.
