New Delhi, News24 Bureau, Jan 24: There is a lot of reactions pouring from all quarters after Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was made in-charge of the eastern UP. There were reactions from BJP, hurling fresh attacks on 'naamdar family'. Political pundit Prashant Kishor who has now joined JD-U also called this a major political development but adding in the same breath that the Congress still is not a formidable force in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. The Congress on Wednesday formally ushered Priyanka Gandhi Vadra into the party fold ahead of the Lok Sabha elections due in few months.
Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said that the Congress will benefit from Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's entry into politics."It's a good decision by Rahul Gandhi. People of India always had a relationship with Gandhi family. Indira Gandhi's legacy will always remain in this country. The Congress will benefit from this," Raut said.Priyanka, whose formal entry into politics has been a matter of speculation for several years, was given the charge of eastern Uttar Pradesh, a key state which sends 80 MPs to Lok Sabha.She will be working in the capacity of general secretary in-charge of Uttar Pradesh East, the Congress announced on Wednesday.The 47-year-old daughter of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and sister of Congress President Rahul Gandhi will take charge of her responsibility as AICC General Secretary from February first week.
