Stage set in Gujarat before real action begins with Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi, Oct 23: A big drama is expected to unfold today in Gujarat, as Rahul Gandhi is all set to take the center-stage ahead of the Assembly Elections in Gujarat. Visuals of preparation from Ahmedabad where Congress VP Rahul Gandhi will take part in OBC 'Navsarjan Janadesh Mahasammelan' today is released and a lot of action has happened before he addresses the curious crowd here.

There are major developments in Gujarat, ahead of Congress VP Rahul Gandhi's visit. Gandhi is visiting Ahmedabad and will be taking part in OBC 'Navsarjan Janadesh Mahasammelan'. The Congress has invited Patel quota agitation leader Hardik Patel and Dalit leader Jignesh Mevani to meet party vice-president Rahul Gandhi during his visit ahead of the Assembly polls.

"Gujarat is priceless. It has never been bought. It can never be bought. It will never be bought," said Rahul Gandhi. In the meantime Nikhil Sawani  after resigning from BJP said, "Will seek Rahul Gandhi's appointment, meet him and put forward my viewpoint." Earlier on Narendra Patel's allegation of the BJP offering him one crore Sawani said,"I agree with Narendra Patel. Even I have heard a lot about money being offered to conveners and others. Gujarat Congress President Bharat Singh Solanki said,"Unemployment has rise, small and medium scale business are unhappy. People want elections to happen soon.

Gandhi will take part in `Navsarjan Gujarat Janadesh rally organised by the party in Gandhinagar where OBC leader Alpesh Thakor will join the Congress. Congresss invite to Hardik Patel and Mevani comes a day after its state unit president Bharatsinh Solanki extended open invitation to Patel, Mevani and Thakor to join the party to ensure the ruling BJPs defeat.

Last month, while addressing students at the University of California in the United States, the Congress vice president had said the impression that he was a reluctant politician was a result of a campaign against him by the other political camp.

"There is a BJP machine, about a thousand guys, sitting on computers that basically tell you about me," he had said

The BJP had "very successfully caricatured" Rahul Gandhi but the tactic is no longer working because the people now see the Congress vice president as an "effective opponent" to the ruling party," said former minister Shashi Tharoor has said.
