Strong 7 magnitude earthquake strikes eastern Russia

Hong Kong: An earthquake of  7 magnitude struck eastern Russia on Saturday, the US Geological Survey said.

According to the reports, the quake struck at a relatively deep 153 km, 109 km (67 miles) north of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy.

There were no initial reports of damage or casualties.

The National and Pacific Tsunami Warning Centers said there was no risk it had caused a tsunami.
