Subramanian Swamy seeks removal of RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan

BJP lawmaker Subramanian Swamy has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking the removal of Reserve Bank Governor Raghuram Rajan.

In his letter to the PM, dated yesterday, Mr Swamy has accused Dr Rajan of an "apparently deliberate attempt to wreck the Indian economy." Mr Swami contends that the RBI governor is "mentally not fully Indian" as he continues to renew the Green Card issued to him by the US government.

In the letter, Mr Swami has asked for termination of Mr Rajan term or wait for his tenure to end and then terminate. Mr Swami has alleged that in the last two years the NPA of banks has become double to 3.5 lakh crore.
