New Delhi: External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj is likely to meet Pakistan Prime Minister's Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz on the sidelines of SAARC ministerial-level meeting in Nepal this week.
Both the leaders will be travelling to the city of Pokhra in Nepal for SAARC Council of Foreign Ministers’ meeting on March 16 and 17.
Although the bilateral meeting in Nepal has not been confirmed yet, reports suggest that both the sides were exploring possibility of meetings between their foreign ministers and foreign secretaries.
Quoting official sources, The Express Tribune reported that the two countries were in touch with each other and there was ‘every likelihood’ that meetings between foreign ministers and foreign secretaries will take place.
Reports further suggest that the two leaders will discuss the possibility of an interaction between Pak PM Nawaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi in Washington later this month, if they meet.
The two Prime Minsters are scheduled to travel to the United States to attend a summit on nuclear security, which will be hosted by US President Barack Obama in Washington.
