New Delhi, August 13, News24 Bureau: There is a big relief for the people of Kerala who are already reeling under the vagaries of weather. The cruel floods have taken everything from them, home and belongings and some unfortunate ones have even lost dear and near ones.So this announcement from External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj that passports damaged in floods in Kerala will be replaced free of cost by the government, comes as a big relief. "There are unprecedented floods in Kerala causing huge damage. We have decided that as the situation becomes normal, passports damaged on account (of) floods shall be replaced free of charge. Please contact the concerned Passport Kendras," Swaraj tweeted.Kerala is reeling under massive floods and more than 35 people have lost their lives and thousands of people were rendered homeless. Around 10 of the 14 districts in state have been affected by the floods.
