Sweep Roads to get FIR quashed, says Bombay HC

Mumbai: Bombay High Court on Thursday directed four youth from Thane to do cleaning in their area every Sunday for six months while allowing their petition seeking quashing of the FIR registered against them in Thane for attempt to murder and molestation.

An FIR was subsequently lodged against the four- Ankit Jadhav, Suhas Thakur, Milind More and Amit Adhakle - in October, after they misbehaved with some women and assaulted a man during a Dussehra procession.

They sought scrapping of the case on the ground that they have reached at an amicable settlement with the complainants.

A division bench of Justices RV More and VL Achiliya agreed to quash the case; however, on conditions of sweeping the road.

A police officer from Naupada police station has been asked to monitor if they are following the court order or not.
