Tejashwi roars back: How can I be corrupt without 'mooch'?

New Delhi: Laying aside all speculations of his resigning over corruption issue,Tejaswi Yadav, Deputy CM of Bihar said, "I had pledged zero tolerance to corruption when I took over as minister. Not one case of corruption in my 3 depts so far."

He said that FIR against him is political vendetta, a conspiracy by Amit Shah and PM Modi. "From day 1 they have tried to break our alliance," said a furious Tejashwi Yadav.

"They are bringing up cases of 2004 against me. I was 13-14 yr old that time. How could a kid do all this?, " the wit in Tejashwi Yadav's question is noticable.

Putting aside all rumours of a break-up in the ruling alliance Tejashwi Yadav said, "The alliance is strong and will not break. BJP will get a fitting reply. "

Tejashwi has been under attack for irregularities - and a resulting payoff - in granting hotel maintenance tenders between 2004 and 2009 when Lalu was railway minister.

After an intense meet of JD(U) on Tuesday it was being speculated that its alliance with RJD is on the brink and the Honeymoon will be over anytin now.

"We know how to follow the coalition dharma, but we do hope that those facing allegations will put all the facts in public domain," said JD(U) leader Neeraj Kumar at a press conference on Tuesday.

Tejashwi Yadav's work as Deputy Chief Minister and minister of road construction and building construction has been appreciated and no allegation has been levelled against him during the period...hence there is no question of his resignation," state RJD president Ramchandra Purbe said.

Tejashwi Yadav, his father and RJD president Lalu Prasad and mother Rabri Devi, figure in the CBI FIR in the case related to three acres of land given to the family by a private party in return for licence given for hotels of IRCTC at Ranchi and Puri in 2006 when Lalu Prasad was railway minister.
