Telangana Bus Accident: 46 pilgrims die as bus falls into the gorge

New Delhi, News24 Bureau, Sep 11: Over 46 people have been killed after a state-owned Road Transport Corporation bus fell into a valley in Telangana's Jagtiyal district on Tuesday.
The bus was carrying 62 pilgrims from the hill-top holy shrine.
The bus had pilgrims returning after visiting a temple. "The incident happened between 11.45 am and noon," Jagtial District Collector A Sharat, who is supervising the relief and rescue work, informed news agency.

According to report, people were travelling in the bus, when it skidded off the ghat road near Shanivarapet village and fell into the valley. The speculations are rife regarding the possibilities of the accident but according to the sources break failure could be one of the reasons for the accident.
Sources also add that the bus overturned before it fell into the gorge.

Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has expressed grief over the accident and has given strict instructions to help the injured and hasten the relief process.
