The great Yadav pari'war': Countdown to Shivpal's resignation

New Delhi: The war within the Mulayam Singh Yadav clan is not new. However, it is for the first time that it was so brazen and open.

Let us look at the sequence of events starting from Shivpal’s resignation.
Sept 15
(i)        Late  evening Shivpal Yadav resigns as state party chief, minister in Akhilesh government. Akhilesh  rejects resignation from government
(ii)        Shivapal meets Akhilesh before resigning
(iii)        Akhilesh meets Mulayam after meeting Shivpal. 
(iv)        Shivpal meets Mulayam in afternoon
(v)        SP general secretary terms Akhilesh’s removal as state party chief “an intentional mistake by party”.
(vi)        Mulayam reaches LucknowSept 14
(i)        Shivpal reaches Delhi meets Mulayam for 4 hours. Complains about Akhilesh .
(ii)        Akhilesh in Lucknow blames “outsiders” for rift hinting at Amar SinghSept 13
(i)        Akhilesh  removes Chief Secretary Deepak Singhal, considered close to  Shivpal
(ii)        Mulayam Singh Yadav  removes Akhilesh from state party chief post, appoints Shivpal 
(iii)        Akhilesh divests Shivpal of all crucial portfolios, leaves him just social welfare Sept 12

Akhilesh sacks two ministers- Gayatri Prasad Prajapati, Raj Kishore Singh-on corruption charges.. Both are considered close to Shivpal and Akhilesh’s step brother Pratik Yadav
Opposition jibes on Shivpal-Akhilesh rift
Rahul Gandhi:  Akhilesh is trying to change government’s image by "replacing tyres of his damaged cycle" but it was too late.
Mayawati: It is drama to hide non-performance of the Akhilesh government. She asked Mulayam Singh Yadav to leave “putra-moh” and retire.
