The Jungle Book stars pose with their animal characters

While trailer of Jon Favreau's upcoming film 'The Jungle Book' focuses on Mowgli and Kaa, the film is stacked with a noteworthy voice cast and their animal characters. Walt Disney Pictures has released a series of photos highlighting the cast posing with their animal characters. The photographs highlight Idris Elba with Shere Khan, Scarlett Johansson with Kaa, Lupita Nyong'o with Raksha, Ben Kingsley with Bagheera, Christopher Walken with King Louie and Giancarlo Esposito with Akela.  Have a look on all the photos below: Idris Elba/ Shere Khan

Voiced by Idris Elba, Shere Khan is convinced that Mowgli represents a risk. The bengal tiger is adamant to free the jungle from man-cub Mowgli. "Shere Khan rules with terror," says Elba. Lupita Nyong'o/Raksha

Lupita Nyong'o voices Raksha, a mother wolf who protects all of her pups, including Mowgli, whom she embrace as one of her own when he is abandoned in the jungle as a baby. Raksha is the protector, shares Nyong'o. Scarlett Johansson/ Kaa

Kaa is a huge python who utilizes her voice and hypnotize gaze to approach Mowgli. The man-cub can't avoid her charming grasp. According to Scarlett Kaa seduces and captures Mowgli with her storytelling. She’s the mirror into Mowgli’s past. The way she moves is very alluring, almost coquettish. Image Courtesy: Facebook King Louie is a dangerous gorilla who desperately wants the secret of Man’s deadly “red flower”–fire. He is convinced that Mowgli has the info that he is looking for. Christopher while describing his character says that Lord Louie is huge–12 feet tall gorilla. He further explains that his character can be as charming and as threatening as he wants to be.  Giancarlo Esposito/Akela 

Image Courtesy: Facebook Akela is the strong alpha-male wolf who takes responsibility of his pack. He invites Mowgli to the family, but worries that he might one day compromise their safety. Esposito says that Akela is a strongest one of the wolf pack. He believes the strength of the pack lies in what each and every wolf offers. He’s a great leader and a wise teacher. Image Courtesy: Facebook Bagheera is a sleek panther who feels it's his duty to make sure that the man-cub departs with pride whenever he leaves the jungle. Kingsley says that his part in Mowgli's life is to teach, to to protect and to guide. He further adds that his character is instantly recognizable by the way he talks, how he acts and what his ethical code is.

The film is scheduled to release on April 15 this year.
