Third Day collection: John's 'Satyamev Jayate' could not stand against Akshay's 'Gold'

New Delhi, Aug 18, News24 Bureau: Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar's film 'Gold' has seen the growth in the collection on the box office on the third day. 

The film was startled by earning 25.25 crores on the first day. On the occasion of Independence Day, John Abraham's film "Satyamev Jayate" was also released, but could not stand against Akshay Kumar's 'Gold'.According to Box Office India, Gold has seen a growth of 25 per cent on the third day and grossed Rs 10 crore.

The total earnings of 'Gold' in the three days has gone up to 43.25 crores, while John's film 'Satyamev Jayate' has earned Rs. 7.50 crore on the third day and total earnings reached 33.50 crores. 

Both films are now eyeing for a good collection on Saturday and Sunday. People are getting more attracted towards Akshay Kumar's due to the good response of the film. 

Let's tell you that Akshay Kumar's 'Gold' has got the third highest opening of the year 2018, while 'Satyamev Jayate' is on the 5th position. According to Taran Adarsh, "Gold" snatched the 'Baaghi-2' position and captured the third position in the list. Ranbir Kapoor starrer 'Sanju' is at number one with a collection of Rs 34.75 crore, while Salman Khan's 'Race-3' is on the second position.

'Gold' is based on the real life of a hockey player, who achieved the first gold medal for independent India. 

The film depicts the journey of a hockey player who first dreamed of gold for India. Mouni Roy has debuted with this movie. Amit Sadh, Vinit Kumar Singh, Kunal Kapoor are also in the lead role in the film.
