Three Bollywood Films to represent at TIFF 2017

The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) is one of the largest publicly attended film festivals in the world, with an attendance of 480,000 people annually. In its existence in the past 42 years, TIFF has grown to become a popular destination for film culture and celebration. This year, three Bollywood films will represent at TIFF.  Let's examine them further:

* Mukkabaaz- Filmmakers Aanand L Rai and Anurag Kashyap have collaborated for the first time. The film will star Vineet Kumar Singh and Jimmy Shergill in lead roles. The film narrates the story of a boxer from Uttar Pradesh, strugging to make a name in the boxing world.

* Omerta - Hansal Mehta and Rajkummar Rao make a formidable team as they have achieved success with Aligarh, CityLights and Shahid. Omerta will follow the life of the British born terrorist Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh infamous for his involvement in the kidnapping and murder of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl in 2002. 

 

* The Hungry - Written and produced by Bornila Chatterjee, the film is set in the extravagant backdrop of an Indian wedding, and delves into the merky world of  politics and big business, will revisit the Shakespearean tragedy of Titus Andronicus as part of a celebration of Shakespeare's influence in contemporary life.
