Paying credence to reports of Sonam Kapoor's impending marriage to Delhi-based entrepreneur Anand Ahuja, the Bollywood actor, will be seen next in PadMan, was on Tuesday spotted shopping at Raj Mahtani’s jewellery store in Kolkata. A source tells us Sonam was accompanied by her Anand’s mother and could have been shopping for her wedding.
There are three designers that are closer to her and are quite acquainted with her style:
* Maheep Kapoor: Her name is synonymous with couture jewelry. She creates heirloom pieces with only with precious stones – Rubies, diamonds, emeralds, sapphires etc. “I concentrate only on creating heirloom pieces – classic, solid pieces, a thing that has value which can be handed down generations. I did use a lot of semi-precious gems also. Her chaand-balis are quite famous. She can mix and match them with various shades of her outfits.
* Farah Khan: The queen of pearls! She elevates the regality factor of these precious gems to the nth level. Her collections depict the fluidity and the beauty of nature - she takes her muse from the graceful gestures of a peacock in its dance, to beauty and elegance of a swan. Also floral motifs, some ornate and some abstract, some symmetrical and some organic. All in all this collection is natures odyssey.
* Queeny Dhody: The master of diamonds! Diamante might as well be her middle name! Or is a claim to fame! Her collections are a mix of art deco and antique jewellery, which are large and opulent in size. Her pieces are intricately crafted with diamonds, both cut and uncut (polki), emeralds, rubies and icy sapphires (peridots) set in 18 carat white and yellow gold.
