6.8 earthquake in Myanmar, tremors felt in Bengal, Bihar, Assam

New Delhi: An earthquake of magnitude 6.8 hit Myanmar this afternoon with tremors across the eastern parts of India, including West Bengal, Bihar, and Assam.

 

The epicenter was reportedly located more than the 500 kilometers from the Indian border, however, the tremors were felt for a few seconds with a few people panicking and fleeing buildings.

 

No reports of any casualties or damage to buildings, so far. 

 

Metro services in Kolkata were also temporarily suspended.
