Two held for killing Bengal youth with stone

Kolkata: Two persons were arrested in connection with the murder of an unknown youth, whose battered body was found at a park in West Bengal's Howrah district, police said Thursday. The yet-to-be identified body with its head and face badly smashed was discovered in the early hours of Wednesday at a park under Bantra police station. The murder, especially the battered face and the blood-stained large chunk of a concrete had revived the memories of the "Stone Man", an unidentified serial killer who murdered over a dozen people in Kolkata in 1989. The duo of Rahul Hari and Atish Hela were arrested late Wednesday night. "Both of them have confessed their crime. They went to the park and after a quarrel over a small issue with the man, they killed him with the stone. Both the accused do not have any previous connection with that person," said Howrah Police Commissioner Devendra Prakash Singh. The accused were remanded to police custody till July 11.
