Hyderabad: People of India have always shown their excitement and enthusiasm in various fields of creativity. Art of act is respected in India as well. People have always shown keen interest when it comes to cinema.
A film ticket for Rs 1 lakh. Unbelievable. But it is true. A die-hard fan of Telugu megastar Balakrishna has done exactly that. The ticket is for Balakrishna’s 100th movie 'Gautamiputra Shatakarni', which was released on Thursday.
The 27-year old fan is Gopichand Innamuri. He owns a restaurant in Guntur. He entered the benefit show for cancer patients where the organisers were hoping that the tickets will go between Rs 500 and Rs 2000. Gopichand stunned the audience and Balkrishna when he walked up and took the first ticket and handed over a cheque for Rs 100100.
"I chose not to spend money unnecessarily on parties etc., to save it for charity. I was waiting for the movie to be released so I could donate it," said the modest fan.
The money from the sale of the tickets would go to Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital.
The hospital was established in 1989 by Balkrishna’s father and former Andhra CM, Late NT Rama Rao.
