UP: Denied bribe of Rs 100, cops beat two labourers to death

Two labourers were allegedly beaten to death by  policemen at a check point in Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh for refusing to give a bribe of Rs 100.

While the police initialy claimed that two young boys, Dilip yadav and Pankaj Yadav died after jumping into the river when they attempted to flee from cops at vehicle checkpoint on Friday.

However, the postmortem report confirmed that the two had died to their injuries prior to drowning.

Along with the policemen involved in the incident, two homeguards, Ram Khiladi and Brijesh Kumar were also suspended. Cases have been registered against the four policemen, Udai Veer Singh, Girish Chand, Gaurav Singh and Vinay Gautam.
