UP horror: Woman gang-raped in Meerut

In a shocking incident that took place yesterday in Meerut's Begum Pul, a woman was allegedly kidnapped and then gang-raped by some car-borne men. After the incident, the woman managed to escape successfully and filed a police complaint in kanker khera police station.

After some initial investigation, police have filed a FIR.

The victim, a resident of Pallavpuram, phase 2, was begging for money at Begum Pul on Wednesday night as her financial condition was poor. The occupants in the car kidnapped her, took her to an isolated place and raped her. When she tried to protest it, she was allegedly beaten.

According to the victim, “There were more than 6 person in the room. When I tried to escape, I was chased. Meanwhile, I called up 100 from my phone. I found out there was a police jeep just a few meters from me. After seeing the police jeep, the accused ran away.”

After the incident, the woman reached the Kanker Khera police station in Meerut along with her husband and filed a complaint. On the basis of woman's complaint, the police have registered a case. The police also sent the victim for her medical.

According to Inspector Prashant Kapil, “We are investigating the matter. Whether the woman is raped or not will be decided on the basis of her medical report.”
