Kanpur: A mob of nearly 200 men, allegedly comprising Bajrang Dal activists on Friday, garlanded a man with shoes for forcibly converting three Hindu men into Christianity.
According to reports, the alleged victim, Awdhesh Savita is a resident of Randar in Jalaun district.
On Friday afternoon, the mob reached his house, brought him out forcibly, and took him to Orai (district headquarters), paraded him through the town after shaving his hair, eyebrows, moustache and garlanded him with shoes.
Reports claim, the mob reportedly accused Awdhesh of luring three Hindu men to a church in Kachwaha village of Mirzapur district on the pretext of attending a satsang and converting them to Christianity.
Three FIRs had been lodged in connection with the incident, including two against Bajrang Dal members, who have not been named, and one against the alleged victim, Awdhesh Savita. No arrest has been made yet.
