New Delhi, Feb 7: Royal Challengers Bangalore also was known as batting powerhouse is once again ready with his terrific batsmen. Despite putting big scores on board frequently and comprised with brilliant batsmen like Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, the team is yet to win an IPL title.
In IPL 2018 auctions, RCB retained three players in Kohli, de Villiers, and Sarfaraz Khan. RCB complete squad is listed below:
Batsmen: Brendon McCullum, Pavan Deshpande, Manan Vohra, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Mandeep Singh
Bowlers: Aniket Choudhary, Tim Southee, Umesh Yadav, Kulwant Khejroliya, Navdeep Saini, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Murugan Ashwin, Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal
All Rounders: Pawan Negi, Chris Woakes, Colin Grandhomme, Washington Sundar, Aniruddha Joshi, Sarfaraz Khan
Wicket Keeper: Parthiv Patel, Quinton de Kock
Strength: RCB bought some very useful overseas players at the auction this year. Now they have two brilliant openers in the form of Quinton de Kock and Brendon McCullum, and two effective all-rounders in Chris Woakes and Colin Grandhomme. Also, RCB made a good deal buying Umesh Yadav for just 4.2 crores. With Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers in the squad and with two new addition of Quinton de Kock and McCullum, RCB has organised their batting lineup to an extent.
Weakness: Unlike batting lineup, RCB's bowling line up isn't that majestic. Umesh Yadav is the only quality Indian pacer in the squad, accompanied by two talented but inexperienced bowlers, Mohammed Siraj, and Aniket Choudhary. While Kohli has broken numerous records while opening the innings, the batsman might have to bat at number three or four, since the team has many openers in Quinton de Kock, Brendon McCullum, and Parthiv Patel.
RCB captain: Virat Kohli
RCB coach: Daniel Vettori
