Volvo V90 Cross Country Launched In India For INR 60 Lakh

"Volvo Auto India today launched its Luxury Lifestyle Lodge  for just INR 60 Lakh"

Volvo Auto India has gone ahead and launched the Volvo V90 Cross Country which we had driven before its launch and felt that the car will open up a new segment and market of customers. Volvo products have a reputation of their own and they have impressed us with pricing always and yet again they have managed to bring in the all loaded Inscription trim D5 version of the car for just INR 60 Lakhs, that too when it’s a CBU (Completely Built Unit) which implies that the V90 CC is placed above the S90 sedan and below the XC90 SUV. IF you seek the better of both the worlds then this the way to go from Volvo.

For a short glimpse the V90 Cross Country has the same DNA as the S90 and XC90 i.e. the SPA platform. The design language is of an outright Estate and mind you it’s a proper full grown luxury estate only of its kind in India. It has got the 2.0 L D5 tune diesel unit churning out 235PS of power and 480 Nm of torque which is mated to an 8-speed transmission. Coupled up with the AWD setup and ground clearance of 210mm on off-road mode the car is capable of handling quite a lot when you leave the tarmac behind.

Volvo Auto India expects to sell minimum 120 V90 CC units per annum. We expect them to get a lot more orders for the same. Having driven the car I can say that it is unlike any other thing on the Indian road the character of the V90 Cross Country is far more different from anything else you can buy. I consider that a big USP when talking about Indian car market most products have become monotonous and obvious choices and in cities like Delhi they are far too common. This offering from Volvo is however going to provide everything at par than competitors at a price which is irresistible. The uniqueness, practicality, driveability, comfort, luxury and safety of this car gets a major thumbs up. When we talk about Volvo cars safety is something we cannot be left undiscussed, the V90 Cross Country comes with Lane assist, Collision mitigation control which auto brakes the car if the cars computers senses the possibility of a collision, this systems works with the ABS to ensure you wheels don’t get locked up even when brakes are automatically applied, enabling you to swirl and avoid any possible situation. This can turn out to be a product for both cities and country side and it will serve best for those who often shuffle between both.
