War clouds after surgical strikes: Evacuation in full swing in J&K border villages

Jammu: After the surgical strikes in PoK, India is expecting a response from the Pakistan Army, In this backdrop, people living within 10km of the Pakistan border in Jammu and Kashmir are being shifted from the border villages. Army and Air Force are already in the state of upgraded operational preparedness.
Army has already  started evacuating people living in the adjoining areas in Noushera belt of Rajouri anticipation of a possible retaliation by Pakistani troops. Evacuation has also started In few areas of the R S Pura sector. An official said, “We have passed directions to them to move to safer places and some of them have started to move to the houses of their relatives in safer places.” State administration is offering all possible help in the shifting process. 

Jammu Deputy Commissioner Simrandeep Singh said,” We have asked border villagers living along IB and LoC to shift to safer area as a precautionery measure”.deputy commissioner, Jammu, Simrandeep Singh said. Schools in the area have been closed till further orders.

Officials said that the  directions have been conveyed  to those  living along international border in Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts and along LOC in Rajouri and Poonch.
