Lucknow: At his flamboyant best, UP CM Yogi Adityanath on Friday said that he or his government is not forcing food habits on any community, but one should adopt vegetarianism for a better and healthy life. He was speaking on the issue of meat crisis and closure of slaughter houses at the News24 mega conclave 'Manthan With Yogi' organised here to take stock of 100 days of Yogi government.
Without mincing words, he took pride in the fact that it was he who ordered closure of illegal slaughter houses. " Only Yogi had the guts to order a clamp down on slaughter houses," the UP CM said. He added that this was not against any community, he had just implemented the NGT and SC orders and only illegal slaughter houses were closed.
Elaborating on the decision, Yogi said, "We are not dictating food habits, even Mulsims had complained against the slaughter houses." Taking a dig at his critics," Being a vegetarian, I have no idea about Tunday Kebabs, only fact I know is that one should become a vegetarian for a long life," quipped Yogi.
