Pancham Saude, New Delhi: In the time of social media, Whatsapp plays an important role in spreading news but when it's fake it turns out to be a headache. The latest fake news going rounds is of Whatsapp itself.
This fake news message is targeting Whatsapp users, claiming that their app subscription has expired and that they need to pay in order to resume the app’s services.
This fake message reads, “Your subscription has expired. To verify your account and purchase a lifetime subscription for just 0.99 GBP simply tap on this link….”
If you have received the message, you should delete it immediately.
But If you have clicked on the link, you should also run antivirus to ensure your device has not been infected.
Users should keep in mind that WhatsApp offers free messaging service, and does not charge at all.
